About Our Leadership Team
Thompson Smith is the founder of the Argus Companies and started the company in 2002. Mr. Smith began working in the crowd management industry in 1982. He was hired by MCA Concerts as the Operations Director at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre in 1988 and maintained that role until 1990. In 1990, Mr. Smith launched an event staffing company in Denver and maintained a Vice President role for more than 10 years.
Smith lives in Colorado and serves on numerous boards and committees. Currently, he is a member of the World Presidents Organization (WPO) Colorado Chapter. He is involved in youth hockey and helps out with the AAA Colorado Thunderbirds and Littleton Hockey Association.
Mr. Smith is an avid hockey player and enjoys coaching youth hockey.
Mr. Smith is a graduate of the University of Northern Colorado where he received a degree in Criminal Justice / Business.
Thompson was instrumental in planning and providing event staffing for the 1993 World Youth Day. He was recognized and presented a Commendation Award from the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s office for his role in the Papal visit to Colorado.
Chief Executive Officer
Dave Brower joins Argus Event Staffing, with more than 20 years of progressively responsible experience in the staffing industry. Dave’s expertise focuses on execution of strong recruitment programs, process improvements and sales growth. These and other accomplishments have been realized through a combination of strong strategic-planning, organization, and developing trusting relationships with internal staff, clients, partners and vendors.
Prior to joining Argus, Dave was a vice president for MedStaff, Inc, where he transformed a business unit generating less than $2 million in annualized sales into one with 18 offices in 7 states generating annual revenues in excess of $50 million.
Dave holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Rutgers University.

Susan Bartholomew comes to Argus as our new HR Director as of 9/10/2015. Her most recent experience is as a HR Manager with a local manufacturing company in the Denver area where she turned the “personnel office” into a true Human Resources Business Partnership function. As a results-oriented business partner she is dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and solving “people and process” issues. Susan has expertise in legal compliance, business process efficiencies and attracting high potential employees and developing staff to reach full potential.
As a Senior HR professional, she brings over 14 years of progressive responsibility in all areas of human resource leadership to include talent management, workforce planning, employee relations, learning and development, project design and management, management coaching, process improvement and full life cycle recruiting. She is highly skilled at aligning HR practices with business strategies to fulfill organizational goals and objectives.
Susan has bachelor’s degree in Fine Art and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. Additionally, Susan currently holds her Professional Human Resources Certification through the internationally recognized Society of Human Resource Management.
Travis Hannan graduated from Lehigh University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, where he was a member of the Psi Upsilon Fraternity. He then proceeded to spend 13+ years working for Cross Country Staffing, one of the leaders of the healthcare staffing industry. At CCS his responsibilities included, but were not limited to all aspects of daily accounting operations from Billing & Payroll through Financial reporting and analysis. During that time he also continued his involvement with Psi Upsilon, as an active board member of the Goodale Literary Association, the alumni association representing the Lehigh chapter. When not working, Travis enjoys traveling with his wife, Megan, daughter, Gwen, and dog, Daisy; as well as listening to music, cooking, reading, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Penguins, Pirates, & Steelers.
