THOMPSON SMITH, President & Founder
Mr. Smith graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Criminal Justice/Business. In 1982 he began working as a concert security staff person with Feyline Concerts and quickly moved up the ladder when he assumed a supervisory role. In 1988 Mr. Smith began working at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre, and was soon promoted to Operations Director. He retained that position for MCA Concerts until 1990 when he started an event staffing company in Denver, Colorado; Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre was his first and largest client at the time. In 1990, Mr. Smith was hired as the Vice President and General Manager for the Colorado division of D&L Entertainment Services, Inc., and in 2003 he left D&L and started Argus Event Staffing, LLC and Argus Corporate Security, LLC. As the sole owner of the Argus Companies, Mr. Smith strongly believes in rewarding loyal and devoted employees, so much so that a good portion of his staff has worked with him for many years. Staff appreciation and acknowledgment have been some of the key factors in creating successful companies in the industry. The Argus staff is a diverse group; each and every person has contributed in different aspects to achieving the overall success of the company!
Thompson Smith has lived in Colorado since 1968. He has been happily married since 1990 and is the father of two wonderful boys. In addition, he is an avid hockey player and enjoys coaching youth hockey through the Littleton Hockey Association.
